For several years in the 1980s, the Bank of Holly Grove published a calendar featuring old photographs significant to the history and people of the town. This information was included in the 1983 Bank of Holly Grove calendar (with photograph of wagon pulled by four mules in wheat field):
Harvesting wheat in 1917 on the June Davidson farm. Due to World War I, flour was rationed. Mr. Davidson raised wheat during these years and had it gorund at the local grist mill for whole wheat flour.
