HOLLY GROVE -- Clyde Olison Chastain, 91, of Holly Grove, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, in West Memphis.
She was born Oct. 20, 1915, near Ragtown to John and Mary Monroe Olison. She was a lifetime resident of Holly Grove, and a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Ragtown. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Monroe Olison; husband, Thomas Chastain; one son, Boyce Chastain; and three sisters, Ernese Walker, Ethel Levy, and Juanita Levy.
Survivors are ethree sons, Michael R. Chastain and wife, Pat, of Holly Grove, Thomas Carway Chastain and wife, Barbara, of Kansas City, Mo., and Ray Olison Chastain and wife, Alice, of Rolo, Mo.; two daughters, Mary Ann Miller of West Memphis and Mazie Gail Parker and husband, Clyde, of Ashdown; 14 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday June 17 at the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ragtown with Bro. Don Lewis and Bro. Tommy Miller officiating. Burial was in Franks Cemetery at Holly Grove by Brown Funeral Home of Clarendon. Active pallbearers were Brian Chastain, Adam Chastain, Calvin Chastain, Glenn Endsley, Jimmy Gerlach and Matthew Dunavan. Honorary pallbeareres were Billy Dunavan, Jerry Collins, William Honeycutt and Stanley Karel Chastain.
