William A. "Buddy" Newby Sr., 80, of Holly Grove, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007, at his home. He was born October 18, 1927, in Holly Grove to the late Millard E. and Thelma Fay Yelvington Newby.
Mr. Newby is survived by his wife, Bernice Story Newby, of Holly Grove; two sons, William A. Newby Jr. and wife Joyce of Memphis, Tennessee, and Charles E. Newby of Brinkley, Arkansas; one brother, Harry Gene Newby and wife Faye Rene of Holly Grove; granddaughter, Kelly Ann Newby Hammonds of Walls, Misssissippi; grandson, William A Newby III and Erin of Memphis, Tennessee; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon, Arkansas. The Rev. Walter Crosson will officiate. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Roller Citizen Funeral Home West Helena, Arkansas.
