CLARENDON - Aaron Charles Wilson, 55, of Clarendon, formerly of Holly Grove, died Saturday, Feb.9, 2008, at his home. He was the widow of Carrie Hayden-Wilson. He was born April 21, 1952, in Holly Grove to Clemmie Wilson Sr. and LaDorothy McClinton-Wilson.
He was a lifelong member of New Rising Star M.B. Church. He was also a 1970 graduate of Holly Grove Vocational High School. He was a resident of Chicago, Ill., for over 24 years. He was employed as a maintenance specialist with Service Employee Local #1 for over 20 years. After returning to Arkansas in 2005 he opened and operated the A&C Cafe with his wife in Clarendon. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also loved playing billiards and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his father; a son, Telly Scott Wilson; two brothers, Lashaun Wilson and Clemmie Wilson Jr.
Survivors include his mother, LaDorothy Wilson of Holly Grove; two brothers, Steve Wilson and wife Vicky of Chicago, Ill., and Rev. Dennis Wilson and wife Uyolanda of Pine Bluff; three sisters, Joyce McCullough and husband Lawrence of North Little Rock, Ethel M. Ross of Kenner, La., and Sandral Sims and husband Lee James of Dalton, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Katherine Hayden of Holly Grove; four brothers-in-law, John Hayden and William Hayden Jr., of St. Louis, Mo., Willie Hayden and wife Geraldine of Stuttgart, and Charles Hayden of Holly Grove; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Collins and husband Jeff of Stuttgart and Addie Abrams and husband Fred of Holly Grove; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday (Feb. 16) at First Baptist Church in Holly Grove with Rev. Dennis W. Wilson officiating. Internment will be in Pine City Cemetery by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
Pallbearers were Terrance Miller, LW Grayson, Le Mark Sims, Willie Rush, Hal Bones, Jarred McCullough, Valander Praris and Kenneth Reed.
