HOLLY GROVE Willie James Banks, 64, of Holly Grove, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Holly Grove to Albert Banks and Ireather Piggie-Banks. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Holly Grove. He attended school in the Holly Grove School System.
Mr. Banks as his mother's primary caregiver for many years. He took very good care of her. He loved fishing, playing cards and walking. He was employed as a farmer for many years before his health began to fail him.
Survivors are his mother, Ireather Piggiee Banks of Holly Grove; two brothers, John C. Banks and wife Tina of Marvell, and Robert J. Banks of Brinkley; five sisters, Alberta Banks of Chicago, Nora Pettis and husband Josh of Joliet, Ill., Pearl Mae Day and husband Reuben, and Lorice "Gold" Banks and husband Addison Day, all of Little Rock, and Charlyne Banks-Miles of Detroit; a sister-in-law, Gizor M. Enlow-Banks of Holly Grove; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Pine City with the Rev.W.R. Parks officiating. Internment will be held in Pine City Cemetery by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Brown, Joshua Pettis Jr., Robert Dodson, Michael Williams, Elijah Williams and Clyde Glass.
