Wiliiam Crawford "Bill" Knight, also known as "Pistol," age 75, of Brinkley died at his home on Friday, January 25, 2008. A son of the late Buster and Zula Porter Knight, Bill was born in Clarendon, Arkansas on June 7, 1932. He attended Holly Grove High School and was a member of the Class of 1950.
Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brinkley and a self employed Snack Food Distributor and Courier. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy Williams Knight, four sons, Jeffrey Knight and wife Nena of Corvallis, MT, Mitchell Knight of Victor, MT, Michael Knight and wife Galina of Dallas, TX, Mark Maness and wife Deborah of Holly Springs, MS, three daughters, Doris Davis of Walnut Ridge, Billie King of Victor, MT, and Angela Hover of Sacramento, CA, one sister, Dorothy Lawless of Commerce, TX, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Zula Knight, son, Brian Knight, brother, Charles Knight and sister, Doris Richardson.
Services for Bill Knight will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Brinkley with Rev. Jim McDaniel and Rev. Ralph Branum officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley. Pallbearers are Terry Richardson, Jim Haynes, Robert Loewer, Pete Medford, Robert Jarrett and Orville Wiggins. Memorials may be given to Arkansas Sheriffs Ranch, Batesville, AR or the Baptist Childrens Home in Monticello, AR.
