obituary of Edmund M. Hirsch Jr.


Edmund Max Hirsch Jr., 79, of Marvell died Sunday, March 9, 2008.

Before retirement he was co-owner of Hirsch's Department Store and Hirsch Cotton Co. He was active in Boy Scouting attaining the rank of Eagle and later served as Scoutmaster and Explorer Scout advisor.  He was a 1946 graduate of Marvell High School.

Edmund served as Marvell's volunteer fire chief, a Rotarian, a member of Temple Bethel and a Korean War veteran with the 936 Field Artillery Battalion. He was an avid duck hunter and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

 

Hirsch leaves his wife, Ellen Tschabold Hirsch of Marvell; two sons, Kent Hirsch and wife, Judy of Springdale, Edmund Hirsch III and wife, Alicia of Edwards, Colo.; two daughters, Carol Howle, and husband, David of Seneca, S.C. and Renee Hirsch of Marvell; a brother, Alan Hirsch Sr. of Marvell; six grandchildren, Leah, Jennifer, Autumn and Joe Hirsch, Matthew and Alex Howle.
