Obituary of Omie G. Honeycutt


Omie G. Honeycutt, 82, of Holly Grove, died Monday, March 22, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. 
She was born in DeWitt Oct 9, 1921 to William Riley and Cora Bessie Pearl Pettie George.  She was a lifelong resident of Holly Grove, a homemaker, and was a member of the Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church. 
Her greatest love was her family, most especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening and canning, sewing and visiting Maddox Bay. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bud" Honeycutt and parents, William Riley and Cora Bessie Pearl Pettie George. 
Survivors are three sons, F.D. Cowans and wife Salley, of Jacksonville, Fl, William Honeycutt Jr. and wife Debbie, of Holly Grove, and Dennis Honeycutt of Holly Grove, two daughters, Judy Honeycutt Baser and husband Johnnie, of Stuttgart, Janice Shenep and husband Wayne, of Holly Grove, a sister, Odra Sawyers of College Corner, Indiana, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove with Bro. J.T. Medford officiating.  Burial will be in Franks Cemetary at Holly Frove by Brown Funeral Home of Clarendon. 
Pallbearers are Larry Chism, John McCoy, Dan Parrish, Stanley Spurlock, Jimmy Gerlach, Jasper Honeycutt, Jerry Collins, Mike Chastain, Laymon Honeycutt and Ron Ferguson.  Honorary pallbearer will be Clyde Geisler.  Memorials may be made to Franks Cemetary.

This was the greatest woman I have ever known.....I miss her tremendously...
