HOLLY GROVE -- Dorothy Sain, 74, of Holly Grove, died Wednesday, Juy 16, 2008, at her home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1934,  in Holly Grove to Charlie Flower and Myrtle Piggee-Flowers. She attended and graduated from Holly Grove Vocational High School. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Holly Grove. She was a member of the Ladies' Choir.

"Dot" as she was affectionately called, loved cooking, gardening and flowers. She especially loved the fact that she finally received and moved into a new home in 2003. It was really a dream come true for her.

She was a very loving, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She especially took pride in her children and grandhcilren. She was also truly devoted to her sons- and daughters-in-law. She claimed them as her own.

She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers, Leotis Flowers, William T. Flower and Abner Flowers.

Survivors are her husband, Ulysee Sain of Holly Grove; her mother, Myrtle Flowers of Pine Bluff; four sons, Timothy Sain and wife, Karen, of Little Rock, Alvin Flowers of Holly Grove, James Flowers and wife, Carolyn, of Chicago, Ill., and Jerome Sebastian and wife, Jessie, of Omaha, Neb.; eight daughters, Debra Swenson and husband, Charles, Joyace Hart and husband, Mark, and Rosemary Bishop, all of Little Rock, Diane Sain and husband, Ray, of Van Nuys, Calif., Sharon Sain, Danita Davis and husband, Paul, and Nastasia Sain, all of Holly Grove, Donna Hawkins and husband, Marvin, of Stuttgart; three brothers, Clarence Flower and wife, Vera, of Little Rock, Alese Flowers and husband, Red, of Toledo, Ohio, and Edward Flowers of Wichita, Kan.; six sisters, Charlene Atkins of Little Rock, Susie Sutton and husband, William, of Chicago, Ill., Emma Jean Jackson and Bobbie Rich and husband, Isaiah, all of Holly Grove, Mary Grant and husband, Nathaniel, and Earnestine Grant, all of Pine Bluff; 37 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of other realtives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 20 at First Baptist Church in Holly Grove with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Internment was in Hayes Cemetery by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley. Pallbearers were Nathaniel Jackson, Tony Jackson, Lawrence Davis, Lonnie Arnold Sr., Antonio Jackson, Nathaniel Grant and Isaiah Rich.
