I got an email from Sonya Hampton about a new Facebook group for Holly Grove and I wanted to share it here:

Hi, Ms. Fletcher, my name is Sonya Hampton. I am 25 years old and was raised in Holly Grove. Over the months, I have been visiting the Holly Grove Unofficial website. I really like viewing the photos and memories that you have posted! I have really been saddened by the way our small community is "going down". I used to love to say I was from Holly Grove because of its low crime rate and friendly citizens. Over the years, Holly Grove has suffered terribly economically and safety-wise. The burning of the school was a disaster! Drugs and crime has infested the community as well.

As people who care about the community of Holly Grove, I hope we can come together to come up with some ideas to restore the community and bring all the citizens together to help eliminate crime, gain better police patrol, etc. A group of people have come together on www.facebook.com to address some issues and try to come up with ideas for the Fourth of July: Homecoming celebration. This is just a start, we want to continue to work together until we can once again feel at home in Holly Grove.

I hope you have time to contact me with ideas about how all of us can come together to make the community of Holly Grove a better place.
