HOLLY GROVE -- On Jan. 22, Mayor Lula Tyler and members of the Holly Grove City Council appointed Voince G. Parks to the Holly Grove City Council.
Parks is a 1964 graduate of Holly Grove Vocational High School, a U.S. military veteran and has been employed by both the Archdiocese of Chicago and the public schools system for the past 25 years as a general education teacher.
He is a 1976 graduate of North Eastern Illinois University, with a BA degree in elementary education/inner city studies. In addition to his work as an educator, he also has experience working with inner city youth and adults in counselng, job training and community outreach on health issues.
Parks feels very honored and excited about his appointment to the City Council and would like to express his thanks to Mayor Tyler and the Council. He looks forward to working with the residents of the Holly Grove community.
