A native of Holly Grove, Ark., longtime resident of Port Sulphur and resident of New Iberia, Diann Cox Skinner went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 3:32 p.m. She enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. She served her Lord along with the congregation at Church of Christ, 667 Charles St, New Iberia.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Lynn Skinner Sr. of New Iberia; her father, Luther Cox of Oklahoma; one son Robert Earl Skinner of Virginia; one daughter Jennifer Diann Skinner of New Iberia; one sister Judy Richardson of Holly Grove, Ark.; two brothers Andy and Nathan Cox of Oklahoma; and her grandchildren Ryan David Skinner of Illinois, Walter Scott Skinner and Mercedes Lynn Skinner, both of New Iberia, and Robert Earl Skinner Jr., Joshwa Skinner and Precious Laureal Kathy Skinner, all of Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of Christ Outreach Program.
Pallbearers will be Kim Touchet, Jerry Trahan, Gene Thibodeaux, Brennon Touchet, Joseph Rhoads and Robert Skinner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Bradburn, Don Thomas and Harold Madeley.
