HOLLY GROVE - Stanley Karel Chastain Sr., age 73, of Holly Grove,passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born November 28, 1935, to Lorenzo and Massie Garner Chastain.

Stanley worked at Mohawk Tire and Rubber Company in Helena and farmed with his two sons until he retired in 2005. Stanley was a long time member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as church treasurer for more than 30 years.

Besides his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by five brothers: Earl Chastain and Thomas Chastain of Holly Grove, Bill Jim Chastain of Clarendon; Hilton Chastain of Iuka, Miss.; and an infant brother Calvin; five sisters; Jewel Watson of Camden; Sadie Terry of Marvell; Hazel Strouth of Bristol, Va.; and Virginia Vester and Doris Kreimeyer of Ulm.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ozella Coleman Chastain; two sons, Stanley Karel and Terri Chastain and Calvin and Donna Chastain of Holly Grove; two daughters, Angela and Greg Heslep of North Little Rock; and Iris and Steve Beck of Brookland; six grandchildren: Cal Chastain and wife Christa of Trumann; Brian Chastain and wife Beth of Lexa; Robin Chastain of Greenwood, Miss.; Adam Chastain of Holly Grove; Cortney Browning and husband Robert of North Little Rock; and Kathryn Beck of Brookland and great-grandchild McKenzie Heslep of North Little Rock.

Visitation will be Friday, July 17th from 6-8 p.m. at Bob Neal Funeral Home of Marvell. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 18th at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ragtown with burial following in Franks Cemetery.

RAGTOWN Stanley "Buddy" Chastain, 73, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at his home in Ragtown.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Ragtown to the late Renzy and Massie Chastain, the last born of 11 children. He graduated in 1954 from Holly Grove High School where he excelled on the football field.

Buddy was employed at Mohawk Tire in West Helena for 11 years and later retired from the family farming business in 2005. He was a member of the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, serving as treasurer for 40 years, president of the Franks Cemetery Association and loyal supporter of Marvell Academy.
