HOLLY GROVE -- Hal Bones, 44, of Holly Grove, died March 31, 2010, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born Oct. 28, 1965, in Holly Grove to West Bones Sr. and Claudine Henderson Bones. He attended St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove for many years and was a 1984 graduate of Holly Grove High School. For the past 10 years he was employed with Doug Calloway Farms of Holly Grove. He was formerly employed with Producers Rice Mill and Lennox Industries, both of Stuttgart.

"Big Head," as he was affectionately known, was very well known and liked in the community. He loved working outside, small engine and small machine repair work. He had a great love for all children. He also had an excellent sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Antonio Morrow and Ulysee Barnes; and a sister, Lucille Bones Jarrett.

Survivors are his wife, Tammy Bones of Little Rock; four sons, Rashand D. Bones and Justin D. Cartwright, both of Holly Grove, Roscoe R. Wesley of Searcy and Deonte Burgess of Jonesboro, Ga.; a daughter, Brianna Bones of Holly Grove, a grandson Malika L. Wesley of Searcy, and his companion, Shajuana Gary of Holly Grove; eight brothers, D.W. Bones, Leroy Bones, Al Bones, Sterling Bones and West Bones Jr., all of Holly Grove; Beverly and Stannita Bones of Clarendon, Keith and Monica Bones of Pine Bluff and Larry and Chris Bones of Little Rock; 15 sisters, Gloria Williams, Regina Bones, Patricia and Aaron Grayson, Kay and Clinton Smith, Vera Bones, Earnestine Bones, Josie A. Bones. Alvie Hampson, Arlena Bones and Ella and John Nunn, all of Holly Grove, Mary Bones of Stuttgart, Ruthie Burgess of Lakeview, Vernita and William Black of Chicago, Ill., Ora and Raleigh McCormack of Bellflower, Calif., and Mae Pearl Hall of Kansas City, Mo.; an aunt, Doris Smith of Holly Grove; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, April 9, from 6-7 p.m. at Banscumb Funeral Home Chapel in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Luke M.B. Church in Holly Grove, with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Interment will take place in Hayes Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Al Bones, Otis Cooper, Leroy Bones, Lee Cooper, Sterling Bones, Monte Williams, Rickey Bones Sr. and Edward Cox.
