Callie Othelia Whisenhunt Self, 92, of Holly Grove, died May 28, 2010, at Crestpark Nursing Home in DeWitt. She was born June 18, 1917, in Pike County to Pleas Whisenhunt and Almeady Young Whisenhunt.

She was a loving and devoted mother and a helpmate to her husband in his ministry. She was married to J.D. Self Jr., who preceded her in death by seven months and 14 days. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and a grandson, Jody Andrew Self.

Survivors are two sons, James Adrian Self and wife, Elaine, of Little Rock and Danny Mack Self and wife, Pat, of Piggott; nine grandchildren, Steven Mark Self and Matthew Wayne Self of Russellville, Christopher Todd Self of Braynt, Jason Daniel Self of Sidney, Jon Adrian Self of Pewee Valley, Ky., David Michael Self, James Scott Self, Monty Marcus Self and Sarah Elizabeth Self, all of Little Rock; two step-grandchidren, Beth Crockett of Jonesboro and Jerry Clemons of Gurdon; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, May 31, at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley with Danny Self officiating, assisted by Dr. Todd Self, Dr. Jason Self, Monty Self and Jon Self. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery at Holly Grove by Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley.

Pallbearers were James Scott Self, David Michael Self, Jon Adrian Self, Steven Mark Self, Matthew Wyane Self, Jason Daniel Self, Christoper Todd Self and Monty Marcus Self.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missionary Baptist Seminary, 5224 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, AR 72204 (J.D. Self Memorial Scholarship Fund).
