Having Mrs. Mayo for 1st grade. being friends with Lee Fannon and breaking my hand playing football at recess. This is a wonderful memory! Do you mind if I ask who wrote? I'm compiling these memories and want to make sure I correctly identify who wrote each memory.
I am Michael L. Simons son of Joe Simons and Grandson of Claudie Carroll Richardson. My Mother was Barbara E. Richardson of the Dryer community. I attended HG elementary from Fall 1972 to May 1976 when we moved over to the Park Grove community and built a house.
When I was in Elementary School, there were many stuffed and mounted birds, animals and fish located up on the stage of the auditorium. I remember that a very big alligator gar was toward the front that was probably donated by Junius Davidson.
I wonder what happened to all of these wildlife mounts?
Playing "Little Sally Walker" on the playground . Nurse Lila Hill used to start the game after lunch each day. I loved to get "picked" to go in the middle of the circle. It was lots of fun to us, but we never knew it was exercise too. Anyone else ever play that game?
