HG properties on National Register of Historic Places


Holly Grove has a number of wonderful historic structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is the country's official list of historically significant sites worthy of preservation. Properties listed in the National Register include districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects that are significant in American history, architecture, archeology, engineering, and culture

Here are the properties listed for Holly Grove (along with a few which are not in HG proper but in the vicinity).

Abramson House (Holly Grove - Monroe County)
127 Crescent Heights
1921-22 Craftsman design by architect Estes Mann
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 9/7/1995.


Capps House (Lawrenceville - Monroe County)
County Rd. 48
ca. 1875 brick I-house
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 6/21/1990.

Holly Grove Historic District (Holly Grove - Monroe County)
Main & Pine Sts.
1890-1920s cluster of historic commercial buildings
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 2/2/1979.
 

Holly Grove Presbyterian Church (Holly Grove - Monroe County)
310 2nd St.
1881 church, weatherboarded in 1900, blends Greek and Gothic Revival styles
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 5/12/1991.


James A. Walls House (Holly Grove - Monroe County)
off Hwy. 17
1903 residence with Queen Anne and Colonial Revival-style influcences
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 6/9/1980.
 

Lair House (Holly Grove - Monroe County)
NE corner of Stone & Elm Sts.
1905 Queen Anne Revival-style residence
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 4/23/1998.

Palmer House (Blackton - Monroe County)
4 miles SE of Blackton off Hwy. 49
1873 Italianate brick home of prominent lawyer
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on 5/4/1976.
