HOLLY GROVE - Mary Jeanette Sylar Tippett, 89, of Holly Grove died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center. She was born in Holly Grove on May 14, 1917, to Dr. T.B. Sylar and Lucye Kelley Sylar and spent her lifetime there. She was Central Supply Supervisor at Helena Regional Medical Center during her working years.
She was married to William Thomas Franks, who preceded her in death. She later married James E. Tippett, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of Holly Grove Presbyterian Church. Her main enjoyment was her family. She was very involved with her church and she treasured time spent with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers.
She is survived by one son, William Thomas Franks Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Little Rock; one daughter, Mary Jane Barringer and her husband, Martin, also of Little Rock; five grandchildren, William T. Franks III, Mary Gwen Franks Bowen, Nathan L. Kimes Jr., Kelley C. Barringer-Krablin, and Kimberly J. Barringer; and two great-grandchildren, Dillion T. Kimes and Bailey M. Kimes.
A memorial service will be Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Holly Grove Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Fern Davis officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery at Holly Grove. Arrangements are with Brown Funeral Home of Clarendon. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Cemetery.
