For several years in the 1980s, the Bank of Holly Grove published a calendar featuring old photographs significant to the history and people of the town. This information accompanied a 1961 photograph in the 1989 calendar:
The Holly Grove Girl Scout Troop had many members in 1961, as well as fine leadership. The troop was very active and traveled frequently on field trips to various locations of interest. Shown here is the troop and leaders as they visited the State Capitol in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their host, Revenue Commissioner [Doris] McCastlain of Brinkley, showed them around the buildings on the Capitol grounds. They picnicked in McArthur Park afterwards with treats of ice cream from the Coleman Dairy Company.
Pictured are members and ladies, with their host, at a presentation of a Holly Grove "fishing lure" which they presented to Governor Orval Faubus. Shown are: Joyce Skinner, Carolyn Clark, Barbara Hartsell, Georgia Hartsell, Diane Stokes, Jan Calloway, Bobbie Helms, Jeanie Helms, Virginia Endsley, Betty Ruth Ross, Paula Jackson, Glenda Spurlock, Shirley Spurlock, Mary Fox, Diane Crisel, Pat Crisel, Peggy Bennett, Nancy Dearing, Sue Jackson, Judy Kay Fox, Lillian Webb, Linda Stone, Betty Rhodes, Janet Booker, Pam Parks, Thelma Dunavan, Toy Seetoo, Katherine Smith, Susie Phillips, Janice Endsley, Marlyn Coleman, Leader Eloise Webb, Leader Pauline Everett, Jimmie Rae Chism, Bobbie Faye Phillips, Sue Webster, Ruth Everett, Sandra Everett, Leader Doris Clark, Georgia Holcombe, Governor Orval Faubus and Commissioner McCastlain.
