Bobby Jean Helms, 71, of Holly Grove, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at her home.
She was born in Holly Grove Sept. 6, 1935, to Noah and Minnie Dyer Calloway. She was a member of Holly Grove Believers Fellowship and the retired owner of a farm supply store. She lived her lifetime in Holly Grove and was married to James Ray Helms, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. "Bo" Calloway and Wilbur "Bear" Calloway, and four sisters, Geneva Calloway, Pauline Calloway, Louise Calloway Self and Bessie "Sally" Calloway Phillips.
Survivors are two daughters, Jeanie Helms of Holly Grove and Bobbie Ray Gannon and husband Jimmy of Holly Grove; a granddaughter, April Gannon Johnson and husband, Larry "Shag" Johnson II, of Holly Grove; a great-grandson, Colby Johnson; and a sister, Lorene Calloway Breeding and husband, Jake Breeding, of Clarendon.
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 25, at Holly Grove Believers Fellowship, with Bro. Jerry Hopper officiating. Burial was at Macedonia Cementery at Holly Grove, with arrangements by Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley. Pallbearers were Gerald Bauer, Gaylon Breeding, Roger Gannon, Dan Parrish, John F. Phillips II and Joe Neil VanCleve.
