Albert Seetoo 8/9/1909 - 2/16/2007
Albert Seetoo, (Chui On Soo Hoo), 97, of Little Rock, passed from this life February 16, 2007. Albert was born August 9, 1909, in Hoy Ping, China and immigrated to Arkansas before World War II. He served in the U.S. Army in the Southern Philippines. When he enlisted he weighed only 125 pounds and stood five feet and five inches tall; but despite his small stature he fought bravely as a Sergeant and heavy machine gunner in many fierce battles. His valor gained him the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and the Silver Star. Upon returning from the war to Arkansas, he operated a grocery store in the small delta town of Holly Grove; later retiring to Little Rock. Throughout his life, Albert was known to all as a kind and caring man who was loved by all. Albert did not have hobbies. His passion was his family and his friends. He was of the best of mankind and will be missed by not only his family but a multitude of friends. Albert was preceded in death by his wife Wai Ying Wong Seetoo. He is survived by four daughters Yit Ying Seetoo and her family of China, Shirley Krannichfeld of Little Rock, Toy Yee of Lake Village and Mabel Wagner of Tontitown; six grandchildren, Tiffany Yee of Fayetteville, Jason Krannichfeld of Little Rock, John Yee of Lake Village, Nathan Wagner of Dallas, Texas, Lisa Krannichfeld of Little Rock and Natalie Wagner of Tontitown. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2007, at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Family visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home (224-8300).
Many will remember Mr. Seetoo, owner and operator of Seetoo Grocery, located near the old post office in downtown Holly Grove. The Seetoo children attended Holly Grove High School through the early 1970s. -- Jane Dearing Dennis
