Some people have recently expressed their concerns about privacy in relation to posting their names on the website and message boards.  There has also been concern about receiving viruses or junk email if they share their email addresses or names on the website and message boards.  On the issue of privacy, as far as I know the only people who are interested in reading the message boards are people with connections to Holly Grove.  I can't guarantee that, but I'm guessing that since this is so subject specific, only people with connections to Holly Grove will be interested.  If you'd like to share something, but you'd rather not do it on the message boards, send me an email and we can arrange something else.

You can post messages here without registering your names if you're uncomfortable including your name with your memories/stories; however my ultimate goal is to create an historical compilation of Holly Grove history. I do want to give credit where credit is due on photos, stories, & articles, etc. so it would be helpful to have a name attached to a contribution....but it's not required.  You don't have to include your name on anything.

On the topic of viruses and junk email - I don't have any popups, spyware, or adware attached to the site, so you won't receive any viruses or other problems by visiting the site.  If for any reason in the future, one of the above manages to attach itself to the website, it will promptly be taken care of.  You won't receive any kind of junk email from posting your name on the website or message boards.  I think the only way you could get junk email would be to post your email address on a message at the website and/or message boards. Luckily, the message boards have a private messaging system so that you don't have to share your email address - you can contact other registered members through the message boards without having to use your email address.  You do have to be a registered member to be able to use private messaging, though.  When you register, you will be asked to give a name (which can be your name, a nickname, initials...really anything you want to put), a password and your email address (your email address is kept private - no one else can see it).  There will be several other questions that you can answer if you want, but they aren't required - they are optional questions.  I've answered them so that if people visit my profile, they know who I am.  But again, that's optional.  I'm hoping more people will register if for no other reason than to see what friends and loved ones are up to!
