Iva M. Self, 91, of Holly Grove, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Stuttgart.
She was born in Langley, Ark., Nov. 26, 1914, to Harvey C. and Dora Miller Lawless. She lived 70 years in Holly Grove, coming from Glenwood, Ark., and was a charter member of the Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Iva worked several years in the Holly Grove School cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and working in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewel, E. "Doodle" Self; parents, Harvey C. and Dora Miller Lawless; two brothers, Homer Lawless and Audie Lee "Brother" Lawless; and one sister, Olive Floyd.
Survivors are a daughter, Ann Self of Holly Grove; two sisters, Opal Dye of White Hall and Virginia Chastain of Forrest City; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 19, in the Macedonia Cemetery at Holly Grove with Bro. J.T. Medford, Bro. Billy Booth and Bro. Jerry Hopper officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home of Clarendon.
Memorials may be made to Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church or Macedonia Cemetery.
