Marten Alvin "Marty" Brown Jr., 58, of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday June 18, 2006. Marten was born in Memphis, Tenn., to Marten and Rae Matthews Brown, Dec. 17, 1947. Marten was preceded in death by his father, Marten A. Brown Sr. Marty was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, and "the bestest papaw ever." He was an avid sportman and loved spending time with is family.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Brown; mother, Rae Matthews Brown; two sons, Chance Brown and Phillip Durbin; two daughters, Michele Casavechia and Angela Couch; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney, Shelby, Montana, Zac, Spencer and Mitchell; one sister, Martha Ann Riner; one niece and nephew.
Graveside serivce will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Macedonia Cemetery in Holly Grove, Ark. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jerry Hopper. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home (791-7400).
