Changes to postings

I'm having to make a change to the message board section of the Holly Grove website.  Until now, people have been able to post anonymously, but we've been having problems with spammers posting inappropriate messages to the board.  Once spammers have discovered a message board or a guestbook, they begin to post so frequently that eventually it will be hard to keep up with deleting their messages. To stop them, I'm going to have to require that only members can post at the message boards.  If you have signed up at the message boards, you'll be able to post as long as you sign in before you post.  This will be good in some ways - this should stop the problem of people posting something only to find out that their name didn't get attached to their posting.  And this will keep the site "family friendly".  I've already had to do this to the guestbook on the main page of the website (which is why you don't always see your guestbook post show up immediately - I have to approve them before they show up on the site).  It's unfortunate that I have do this, but I think most people will agree that it's better to keep inappropriate content off the site.  You'll still be able to read postings if you aren't signed in, but you just won't be able to post until you are signed in.

I'm going to change that function of the message boards today.  I figure there will be a few problems initially, so if you have any questions or problems, please let me know!

I've posted five new photos of Holly Grove recently taken by Jane Dearing Dennis in the photo albums.  And in a few weeks, I hope to start updating the site more frequently (it's been a busy fall so far, but I should have more free time by the middle of October).

Thanks so much to everyone who visits the site and who continue to pass word of the website along to others.  And thanks so very much to those who contribute to the project - I appreciate it more than you know!  I hope everyone is having a great fall!
